Epping Forest District Museum

On Sunday 30 October 2011 the Epping Forest District Museum on Sun Street in Waltham Abbey EN9 1EL was broken into in the early hours of the morning. Many of the display cases were destroyed but many withstood the battering. The alarm alerted the police to the break in and the Museum staff were called to the scene and established that a number of items were missing: One Bronze Age gold bracelet, three Iron Age gold coins. A male later handed himself into police but the bracelet and the gold stater of Tasciovanus above have not been recovered.

Any individual in possession of the stolen items could be a suspect for a crime involving loss and/or damage.

The crimes have been reported to Essex Police - Crime reference CF/09175501/11
